Here's another photo from Ty's senior session that I just finished putting together! For all of you who may be wondering how this was shot, I put the camera on a tripod and took several images of Ty in different locations around the car and then compiled them in photoshop by making them different layers and erasing where each Ty was standing on the opposing layers.
You gotta love photoshop!

BTW, have you played at all with Hugin? While I haven't played around much with compositing photos -- I generally just use it for ordinary panarama stitching -- I believe that enblend can automate some of the manual work required to create composite image of this type. (Of course, that's also half the fun, no? :) You can see more details on how enblend works here if you're curious...
